Familiarity

Slipping, sliding down the hills I remember it so well
Years have passed since I woke up eager on Christmas morning
Now all I want is my nice warm bed
Sleeping in
Friends who will be there til the end
Simplicities that seem so complicated
Going home
Waking up to family
Hoping it will come together in the end
When it feels almost, the same again.

A new you.

What will the new year bring, or what will you bring to your new year
How do you turn yourself around onto the road you desire
The goals you yearn to meet
Addictions you wish to leave behind
Discovering you,
How do you reinvent yourself
All anew
Aglow
Dancing in the moonlight
Bathing in a bath with selected candles while you listen to the music play
Taking your distant dreams out of your head
Letting go, drawing in that which you were reluctant to once and for all.
Saying this is me.

In the woods.

“Let your mind escape into a land of ice and snow. No cars, no jobs, nothing except forest. A small cabin sits smoke drifting from its stacks. An evening of tranquility among people surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones. If not, those then someone sits, in a peaceful reflection of the morning to come. A calmness and memories bring hope. Let us celebrate, the holidays in serenity.”

Colliding, exploding, exerting myself onto the world…(Poetry, and Song)

The world it comes crashing down on me

Beware of the friendly things you see

Innocents is swept away

I keep singing anyway

And the world it crashes down on me

All the silly games we play

Let nothing get in the way

Still it comes crashing down

The thunder rolls right into town

I feel the rain upon my checks

Trickles down before I see

 Lightening shining over me

Never can I make up my mind

Telling my truth all the time

It’s when it opens up the blinds

People often shut doors

*Unable to explore not desiring the things I see

The world it comes crashing down on me

Beware of the friendly things you see

Innocents is swept away

I keep singing anyway*

And the world it crashes down on me

Remind myself it’s my truth, not theirs

So I better be prepared…

Fireworks flying in the sky

I no longer see the reason why

*The world it comes crashing down on me

Beware of the friendly things you see

Innocents is swept away

I keep singing anyway

And the world it crashes down on me*

Independence is important too

So why the hell does it make me feel blue?

Most the soldiers had to die

I don’t the reason why

We can’t take care of them too

Then others judge my views

Have it all crash down on me

I’m not winning popularity

But to myself I’m always true

*The world it comes crashing down on me

Beware of the friendly things you see

Innocents is swept away

I keep singing anyway

And the world it crashes down on me*

What are we going to do?

It’s as if life is a TV show

How can we make it stop?

Will it crash down on you or not?

Rise up and tell your truth

Don’t be mute

Take the risk

Exist

If we have to let the world collide

Every truth will be our guide

Nothing left to hide

Like waves will crash

As we clash.

*The world it comes crashing down on me

Beware of the friendly things you see

Innocents is swept away

I keep singing anyway

And the world it crashes down on me*

Chasing Trains

In our pajamas

Dad loads us in the car

My brother and I

The excitement intensifies

As if we’re shooting stars

Hearing the toot toot, and engine of steam as it travels

Anticipation as it rattles

Down the tracks

Never going back only forward

We stop at the track and the conductor waves

My dad click clicks his camera away

Until it has passed

Then in the dark room

A little small alcove holding our washer and dryer

He develops the film

Shows us how it is done

We watch amazed by what the water does to the magic paper

There upon it is the train

And the conductor waves once again

As if we never left.

War Aftermath

I give thanks for those who

Fought for me

Even though I don’t agree

I wish war didn’t exist

But I must admit

How else can we protect each other?

Sisters and brothers

From the hurt and pain

What culture is right?

Which one is wrong?

What have we known from all along?

If only love could truly save us

Then others would see it to

And no longer would we have to see

red blood dripping from

The Red White and Blue

Must the Stars fall one by one?

Till there are no soldiers standing

No-one on either side remaining

Til we disappear

Fighting to the death

For what we each have left

Only for nothing to remain.

Connectivity

Many Mother’s manage numerous tasks

Not once stopping to consider all they do

Cook, clean, pick up, teach, love, look after

Guiding us each day

Every step

Until you grow

Glance back

Realizing all she did for you

Sacrificed, gave, loved and cherished every second with you

Til she let you go

Into the world

On your own

Hoping you’d come back to visit

Alone, with a lover, or children of your own

She’ll forever be your protector

No matter your life choices

If she loves unconditionally

Love is everlasting

Her spirit until the end of time

Linked, bonded, joined

By the life, she gave you

And you have given her

In the joys

Of your successes

Tears of failures

An understanding compassion held for one another

A child to mother

No matter how old you grow, far you go, as long as you live

And when she’s scattered to the wind

Among all things

She’ll watch over you

Tending to you as she did before

Without end

Easter/ A spring celebration!

An Easter blessing?

Perhaps

A spring renewal,

Live in harmony

Guide your life

Daydream

Trust

Do not panic

Keep your head up

Don’t fight over the bread

Share it

Live to help others

Do not put them down

Instead give

Hope, Love, and if you can encompass faith

Don’t push, force, or hurt

Let them be, let them live, allow

Free will

Celebrate

Chocolate bunnies and peeps

Yummy things

No spoil

Or

Toil

And if your don’t commemorate Easter

That’s just fine

I love you nevertheless

No judgment

If peace exists then be

Peaceful

Pick daisies

Give them to an ally

Spring

Fresh smells, new beginnings

Trees blooming, flowers peeking,

Racking brush

If not happy for Easter be happy for that

There are still bunnies, and cute chicks

Friends before you

Who adore you

Kindness

Swells…

Easter for me is family

Sharing a good hearty meal

Being Thankful

For each new day

The bright sun in my face

Watching neighborhood children play

If you like

Eat a peep, A Cadbury egg

Enjoy the new beginning

Rebirth

Spring awakens!
