Madonna

Happy birthday

Hero

I admire and aspire

Dream, work, and yearn to achieve

Goals

I’m driven to believe, I can succeed

With the hope, you placed in my heart

I love all your art

Words

Songs of poetry

Actions of courage

We stand up together

Believing

We can change the world!

Aquainted

You give me moments

 Glimpses that make me smile

Every time the paradox opens…

In this instance, you stick out your tongue at me

We are basking in the sunlight enjoying the end of day

You go by

As you have many times in my life

Followed, following

Restoring joy and hope

All at once

Remotely from afar

War Aftermath

I give thanks for those who

Fought for me

Even though I don’t agree

I wish war didn’t exist

But I must admit

How else can we protect each other?

Sisters and brothers

From the hurt and pain

What culture is right?

Which one is wrong?

What have we known from all along?

If only love could truly save us

Then others would see it to

And no longer would we have to see

red blood dripping from

The Red White and Blue

Must the Stars fall one by one?

Till there are no soldiers standing

No-one on either side remaining

Til we disappear

Fighting to the death

For what we each have left

Only for nothing to remain.

Connectivity

Many Mother’s manage numerous tasks

Not once stopping to consider all they do

Cook, clean, pick up, teach, love, look after

Guiding us each day

Every step

Until you grow

Glance back

Realizing all she did for you

Sacrificed, gave, loved and cherished every second with you

Til she let you go

Into the world

On your own

Hoping you’d come back to visit

Alone, with a lover, or children of your own

She’ll forever be your protector

No matter your life choices

If she loves unconditionally

Love is everlasting

Her spirit until the end of time

Linked, bonded, joined

By the life, she gave you

And you have given her

In the joys

Of your successes

Tears of failures

An understanding compassion held for one another

A child to mother

No matter how old you grow, far you go, as long as you live

And when she’s scattered to the wind

Among all things

She’ll watch over you

Tending to you as she did before

Without end

Standing by/You gave&give me strength

I woke up hurting recalling what they did to you.

The ridicule, the lies

for me you erased the pain each note eased it

Songs helped me through it comparable to a book with life instructions.

They wanted to shatter what they called my illusions

A warmth that lingers

A sun they claimed was only out to shine for themselves

not for the misunderstood.

No I won’t open my ears for you.

Nor, Let them take away anew strength found

they call false.

Thinking you would leave…

Never really thought

but you didn’t

A pillar of stamina, persistence

They say you use your money for power

Me, my answer

You stand for social change, pushing buttons, minds urging them to see equality

among our diversity

These folks see your stash of cash

While

I see your heart

They think my emotions lie to me.

I’m just unstable they mumble to themselves passing me by…

No one else helped me smile through the years struggled

Adolescence, young adult, then adulthood happened

An icon who never told anyone they were unwanted

So I followed, and continue

I’ve been betrayed before here ‘ll stay

even if they make me pay.

Money is meaningless

Hero’s are priceless

Love goes beyond dollar bills

I take this her, a memory, the gift of song

Who she has helped me become

Don’t you agree

and yes

She does give to charity…

You taught me…

Shutting down the engines, Protection mode on

Get rid of emotional hazards ripping through your core

Take away the presence of disaster

Discontinue connections

Set yourself in mortar

Shut down your

Dreams, songs ideals

That is what they want

Why don’t I stop?

What leads to me into this ongoing disparity?

A belief that it matters

That each thing I touch

It doesn’t die

Its new life while mine

Slowly moves electricity inside me

You taught me they cannot touch that

Each word, letter, part of me matters

Still I yearn to shut down

Close up, End

Something out there won’t let me

You told me not to halt

Continue continue

Here it comes, the need for appreciation

Rejection never left us

Somehow we carry on

In spite of feeling the need to turn our hearts off

To shut down

Two women worlds apart

United

If Left to Burn…/Aid each other

If only disasters created

Solutions

Instead of momentarily fusing together

Diversity

To solve a current crisis

Merely to once again

Disburse

Until another should arrive

That’s when we

Knock on doors

Pledge funds

Bake cakes

Shake hands

Shift sides

Comfort friends

Hold family dear

Running to be heroes

Waiting for catastrophe to transpire

In order to assist

Where’s the prevention?

Idea’s heard, spread, and shared

Can, will, and do

Resolve the majority of hardships

Before they happen

Granted we can’t stop them all

Even those who suffer from depression

We can aid, support, and work to improve

Our

Communities

Homes

Friends

And dare I say enemies

For even I struggle

Left in the dark

When there is no light to reach for.

Dedicated to Madonna

Once I “Opened my heart.”

“Bedtime stories” filled my head

In my dreams “Like a Prayer.”

I know I’ll always find you there

I will always “Cherish” you

You’ve given me the strength to grow

As the “Rain” falls on my head

I am “Living for Love” with nothing to dread

An “Unapologetic Bitch” you taught her moves

This “Bad girl” likes to believe she knows

You are my “Lucky Star.”

In times of great defeat

“Music”, helped me “Live to Tell.”

An “Angel” said just be yourself

“A Ray of Light” shining down on me

“Everybody” dancing to the beat

“MDNA” runs through me

I’ll never be the same

This “Rebel Heart.”

Is “Into the Grove”

I never knew, you see

That a

Pop icon would

“Rescue me.”
