Equality for All

The only sanctuary that exists is in your own mind.
This world is blind
It doesn’t know what unconditional love is
What it knows is fear, hate, and how to take away
What was never theirs,
It says
‘And liberty and justice for all.’
Most of you make me want to die
But I know I have to keep fighting
For those that need me.
I stand with the LGBT community.

In an accidental place
Into a nearby cave to rest
I set up the fire
Igniting the spark
Stand back
Stare at the bright glow of success

In July….

It’s a hot sticky summer night
I pull the bed sheets from my body turn and
Open the window allowing the cool breeze and windy rain to soothe me
As the hot and cold crash together
Joining in anger to relieve us of our swelter
I watch the lightning show as my hand lingers on the curtain
It unravels, the storm in its glory
Like our lives before us.

People come and go.

Ones who attempt to understand, hold empathy out before you, and hug you when you’re sad.

They matter…

Better Things

Sit, look, dream of better things.

Let the light from the city shine into your room.

All those people out there living, grieving, screaming, struggling to survive.

In a way, we’re all one.

Even though we don’t like it.

When we clash in our colors of dispute.

Rushing in to defeat each other or do we let live?
